Thierry HESSE’s intervention

A word from Thierry HESSE- General commissioner of the Show

Four years have gone by since the last International Two-wheel Show, four years of frustration for the motorcycle enthusiasts, the professionals and the Media. But these four years have enabled our Organization Committee, with the help and support of the professional trade union association, to work relentlessly and to prepare the new Show which will leave its mark on the History of motorized two-wheels in France.

A new show- A new Date: In order to present as many novelties as possible, it has been decided that the show will open later in the season, end of November-beginning of December, after Milan…The manufacturers have also played along, keeping some World and European premieres for Paris!

A new Show- A new duration: Six days of Show, from November 29 to December 4, including an entire day, Tuesday November 29, only for the Press and, this is also a novelty, for trade. This shorter duration of the show, led to a price decrease of over 15% compared to 2007 on square footage and therefore has enabled more exhibitors to participate, particularly in areas of equipment manufacturing, accessories and company services.

A new Show- A new Location: By booking for the first time, the pavilions 5/1, 5/2, 6 and 8 of the Porte de Versailles, the Organization Committee had anticipated the participation of a large number of important manufacturers in each hall. An anticipation which has today proven to be wise. Therefore the harmonious display will guarantee a better visibility for the exhibitors and a better circulation within the halls for the visitors.

A new Show- A higher number of Manufacturers:

One has to go back to the 2003 International Two-wheel Show to find so many important motorcycle and scooter manufacturers gathered in one place… and this year all the manufacturers have mobilized like never before. We are also happy to welcome brands like Norton which has never exhibited at the Paris Motorcycle Show before.

Marketing: Six months before its opening the Show has already reached a level of participation never reached in the previous editions.

Some pavilions are already full and the Organization Committee is already considering adding an extra heated outdoor gazebo. This will enable the Committee to answer the many demands which continue to pour in.

Events: The new location of the pavilions enables us this year to enjoy much larger areas than before for outdoor initiations and demonstrations. The 2011 Show has chosen to be a dynamic manifestation which will allow all visitors, whatever their age, to handle motorcycles and scooters with the assistance of professional instructors, and to enjoy demos from famous riders. These new events have for the most part never taken place in previous editions.
